I am Dan Cummings. I’ve gone through many transitions in my life. Each has taught me valuable lessons that I carry with me to this day. My life has taken me from a rural farm to cities around the world and back again. I’ve worked on factory floors, as a pharmacist in the hospital, and as a computer engineer. I’ve worked for some of the world’s largest tech companies and been a small business owner. There are many things I’m proud of in life, and some I’m not. In 2009 I realized something was missing from my life, so, at the age of 55, I went back to school. I earned my master’s in counseling psychology and became a mental health counselor. I thought I had finally found the right fit. A career I truly found fulfilling. Unfortunately, my health took a turn in 2022. I was diagnosed with cancer. By the end of 2023, I knew I needed to make another change. I wanted to spend more time with my family, but I also knew I couldn’t just walk away from my career helping people. You see, helping others is more than a fulfilling career, it’s a core piece of my being. I set out to find a way to continue to help my fellow man while prioritizing my health and leaving plenty of time to make memories with my beloved wife, daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren. That’s when I realized all the changes I had experienced, and all the lessons they had taught me, those were the real gifts I was meant to leave for the world. No one knows better than I how difficult, even frightening, life transitions can be. I realized my experience can help others navigate their own transitions. That’s how I became a Transition and Mindset Coach.  It is my passion to use what I’ve learned to help others in their own lives. The road of life can be bumpy, but you don’t have to navigate it alone.
